The Easiest, Healthiest Jam You'll Ever Find
How do chia seeds pack so much nutrition in such a small little seed! Thank god I am not allergic to this magical superfood! They’re loaded in omega 3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, and minerals such as calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and manganese, not to mention they’re packed with protein. Just one ounce of these puppies will give you 4.7grams of protein! These tiny little seeds can increase your energy and also aid in blood sugar regulation and weight loss. You can add your recommended dose of one tablespoon per day to a glass of water or mix in ¼ cup of coconut milk and stir until gelatinous for a pudding snack or a yogurt replacement in the mornings! OR you can make the healthiest, easiest jam you’ll ever find.
The Easiest, Healthiest Jam
makes 1 cup of jam
1 cup frozen or fresh raspberries (or any seasonal fruit!)
1 tablespoon ground chia seeds
1. In a mason jar or another container, smash your frozen or fresh fruit with fork.
2. Add chia seeds and refrigerate overnight. You may choose to place in fridge and stir after a couple of hours. This isn’t necessary but I like to do it because it’s more fun to see the chia seeds in action!
3. Voila! Chia seed jam that’s not only sugar free but it’s super tasty! I love the tartness of the raspberries and don’t feel deprived at all!
You may choose to spread on your (gluten free, dairy free, egg free, nut free) toast with a drizzle of raw, local honey! I like to leave the honey or maple syrup out of the recipe and add it on if I like after. I feel like it’s more versatile that way but you’re welcome to add in a teaspoon or two before refrigeration, if you’d like!
I spread this chia jam over my allergy free energy bars which will be my next post! Hope this turned your world upside down like it did for me!
